Abstract

A pot culture experiment in CRD with eight mango varieties and three replications was laid out in the Department of Pomology and Floriculture of College of Agriculture, Padannakkad during 2013-2015, to study the different morphological and anatomical characters associated with dwarfness. Among the morphological characters studied, plant height, number of leaves, leaf-length, width, total leaf area and inter nodal length recorded least values in Vellaikolamban. With respect to anatomical parameters, phloem-xylem ratio was maximum (0.78) in Vellaikolamban. Based on various morphological and anatomical characters, Vellaikolamban was classified as dwarf.
